My travels have bought me to Wichita. M. and I found an organic grocery store and a good liquor store and, after some searching, a motel in this part of town.
Wichita, however, is one story tall and fifty miles across. Sort of like Grand Junction, Colorado, which is one story tall and fifteen miles across. But worse. I don't care how many arts centers and museums you have.
If you're going to have a city, have a city. Verticality, that's the key. I have spent the last five days in Chicago and, honestly, if I had to pick, I would pick Chicago.
Except maybe for access to upland bird hunting.
